Susie Ohmer, LCSW
Susie is part of the third generation of Petersburg Ohmers. She graduated cum laude from the University of Denver with a bachelors in Psychology and earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington.
Susie returned to Petersburg in 1993 to develop the town’s first locally-run behavioral health center, and is now one of the longest standing directors in Alaska. Her clinical interests include complex trauma, biofeedback, crisis negotiation, and the unique challenges of providing professional services in a rural island environment.
She enjoys working with new therapists and helping them find the unique personal clinical style that best fits them. Susie considers it a privilege to have spent her adult life helping the people of Petersburg and giving back to her home community.
